Evolving Our Brand: Our New Values

We’re going through an evolution at Maya — giving ourselves a brand update and refresh as we have grown and changed over the last few years… as businesses tend to do.

Luckily, branding is what we do. So we are going through all of the processes we would with our clients (though these processes are getting an update too), which we will share some of along the way.

The first thing we wanted to do as part of the evolution was reevaluate our values, as these will be the basis of everything else that we feel, say and do. We approached this existential task with a brainstorming session with our entire team. We threw into the mix everything we feel about Maya and the way we conduct ourselves within the company and with our clients. What struck us was how similar most of our comments were, which became a guiding force in selecting our values from the mix. We hope you agree that these new values reflect the brand and the culture we’ve worked so hard to nurture.

Without further ado, here they are.


Honesty and transparency are at the forefront of our approach. We don’t just tell our clients what they want to hear, we tell them what’s right for their business. We speak up when we need more information or when something doesn’t stack up. We have the courage to say no. We’re open with each other and honest about our strengths and what we do and don’t like. Maintaining our integrity allows us to feel good about what we do.


We completely respect our clients and the brands we work with — and respectfully walk away from those who don’t align with our values. We treat everyone with courtesy, politeness and kindness, building trust in our relationships. Within our team, we respect each other, our time and priorities, and the part each of us plays in making Maya magic.


We care about peoples’ health and wellbeing. We care about the planet. We care about our clients’ missions. We are thorough and meticulous, taking great care over the work we do. We actively listen and take time to understand different points of view. We care about having a positive impact on the world and making things work for our clients.
